A better team call starts with the next decision
Good communication gives a teammate something useful to do, without filling every quiet moment.
Name the situation
A useful call is short and specific: where the objective is, what has changed and which route is open. Avoid narrating every action. Give your teammate time to read the scene and respond.
Offer one next step
Suggest a clear option rather than a list of possible plans. A simple call such as regroup at the lower gate is easier to follow than a rushed explanation of everything that might go wrong.
Review the call, not the person
After a round, compare the information you shared with the decision the team made. Ask what would have made the situation clearer. Keep the conversation about a repeatable habit, rather than a teammate’s personality.
